Third World: Alive at 5 Reggae Night
Third World is a Jamaican reggae fusion band formed in 1973. Their sound is influenced by soul, funk and disco. Although it has undergone several line-up changes, Stephen “Cat” Coore and Richard Daley have been constant members.
Albany’s signature free concert series premiered in the summer of 1990 with a performance by legendary folk artist Richie Havens, band has since grown into a staple of summer in the Capital Region. Showcasing a diverse lineup of big names, up-and-coming acts and the region’s most talented original artists, Alive at Five offers eight weeks of free, critically acclaimed performances catering to nearly every taste.
