Welcome to the official website for the Albany Parking Authority.

The APA is responsible for parking in support of Albany's vibrant downtown, historical neighborhoods, and hundreds of artistic, cultural and entertainment venues in our capital city.

Under the leadership of Mayor Jennings, The City of Albany has experienced unprecedented progress and development during the past fourteen years, and this renaissance brings with it the need to improve existing parking as well as develop new facilities and systems.

During 2010 we will focus on seven area:

• Refine and market "multi-space" parking meter system and investigate use of a WI-FI platform
• Perform cost/benefit analysis of pay by cell phone technology as a premium platform for meter payment
• Renovate Green-Hudson and Columbia garages (year 5 of a 6 year plan) and evaluate lighting system options for Quackenbush garage
• Seek to improve residential parking
• Expand web based information and services to help people locate parking and make purchases via credit card
• Populate the APA website with more information to better inform the public about the Authority
• Pursue involvement in city development projects

Our goals are to provide safe, convenient and affordable parking. To refine our vision we are partnering with area businesses, residents, and stakeholders to develop strategies towards improving customer service, communications, and wayfinding while controlling costs.
