$1 Million for a New York City Parking Space While the Albany Parking Authority Gives Parking Away for Free

ALBANY - Parking is getting expensive in New York City with the first $1 million parking space now up for grabs, while parking in Albany is looking very reasonable. The Albany Parking Authority announces it’s giving away one free month of parking in its Quackenbush Garage to a lucky Facebook fan.

"Certainly parking in New York City can be very expensive, and we work hard to provide reasonable rates here in Albany,” said Michael Klein Executive Director of the Albany Parking Authority. “We’re happy to provide a free parking space to someone that is not familiar with the high quality parking we provide. Even if it’s not worth a million dollars; it’s one way we give back to the Albany community.”

The Albany Parking Authority is giving away one month of parking in its Quackenbush Garage located behind 677 Prime on Orange Street between Broadway and Water Street. The free month of space is a $140 value given to one lucky Facebook fan. To be eligible to win, Facebook users must “Like” the Park Albany Facebook page and submit a wall post requesting to be entered into the contest. A random winner will be selected from the entries on Monday, May 28. The winner will be given one month of free parking in the Quackenbush Garage starting June 1 (or for any month this year).

With three parking garage locations, 11 off-street parking lots, and the on-street meters, the Albany Parking Authority manages more than one-third of the public parking inventory in Albany. This includes the new multi-space meters that accept credit cards, which now eliminate the need for quarters when paying for parking in downtown Albany. The Albany Parking Authority works to provide competitive rates and incentives for businesses to support economic development in Albany.

To enter the contest on Facebook, “Like” the
Park Albany Facebook Page and submit a wall post requesting entry to win free parking for a month.
